Luxury lifestyle on the lower north shore

A focus on wellbeing, spacious apartments and on-site services all add up to resortstyle retirement living.

If taking a gap year at the end of high school is widely regarded as one of the best ways to celebrate new-found freedom, then it’s no surprise that travel is also at the top of the list once we are freed from work’s shackles.

An international study conducted last year found the number one thing Baby Boomers wanted to do in retirement was travel. Time in a luxurious hotel or aboard a five-star cruise is a reward for all the years of hard work, but at some point the holiday must come to an end.

At Hyegrove Willoughby, however, every day will feel like high-end resort living. A luxury retirement living community, residents will enjoy a service and amenityrich environment.

Highlights include a private cinema, dining room and wine cellar, heated indoor swimming pool, gym, and a yoga and pilates studio. There will also be a cafe, bar and rooftop entertaining area, with views to the Sydney CBD skyline.

“Hyecorp is committed to helping you find your dream home,” says Stephen Abolakian, Hyecorp’s managing director. An Australian family-owned and operated property group, Hyecorp has been delivering premium apartments across Sydney for nearly 30 years.

The group has drawn on that considerable experience when developing Hyegrove, its first retirement offering. “Hyegrove is an evolution of our residential living offering on Sydney’s lower north shore,” Abolakian says.

“We have spent almost a decade planning these to create luxurious homes that bring you the ultimate retirement lifestyle – one that celebrates joyful living, wellness and a sense of family.’’

There will be 115 apartments, which will be a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans ranging in size from 55 square metres to 176 square metres internally, each with either a balcony or courtyard.

“We have enjoyed incredible sales with stages 1 and 2 selling out quickly,” Abolakian says, which is why Hyecorp has just launched a new building in the next stage.

“There are only 15 apartments remaining in this new building which includes some of the largest apartments in Hyegrove Willoughby,” he says of these oversized twoand three-bedroom apartments.

Construction is already under way. When finished, the apartments will all have details including oak timber floors, bespoke joinery in the kitchen and living rooms, as well as Miele appliances.

While the emphasis is on independent living, Abolakian says Hyecorp is also providing “five-star service and support” for residents of Hyegrove. This includes 24/7 concierge and security, registered nurses and carers on site, a food and beverage team, on-site building management, complimentary basic groceries and linen service, and transport to Chatswood.

“As people age and require more services and help, we can provide whatever they need and that level of care can be dialled up or down. It’s about putting the control into their hands, a characteristic that is too often not available to people living in retirement communities or aged care facilities,” he says.

On Thursday August 3, Hyecorp is hosting a special high tea from 2pm at Northbridge Golf Club. Retirement living expert Cameron Kirby will present an information session that will go into more detail about different options for retirement living and aged care, alongside what’s on offer at Hyegrove Willoughby.

“At Hyegrove, we do not take a one-sizefits-all approach. We listen and tailor a bespoke solution just for you,’’ Abolakian says. ‘‘It’s a new era for high-end retirement living in Sydney’s lower north shore’.’’

People considering aged care should seek professional, independent financial and legal advice.
